Promote where the rules allow it. X and Reddit accept labeled adult content, and Bluesky accepts self-labeled posts. Instagram is stricter, TikTok and YouTube ban links to sexual content, and the gay dating apps ban advertising outright. Paid ads are closed almost everywhere.
Where can a male creator promote OnlyFans?
Only on platforms whose rules allow it, because an account banned for promotion takes its followers with it. This is what each platform's own policy says, as of the date at the top of this page. Policies change often, so reread a platform's rules before you build on it:

Two platforms remain open for most male creators: X and Reddit. Bluesky is a third. The rest either ban what a promotion needs or leave it unclear, and an unclear rule is a risk you take with an account you cannot easily replace.
How do you promote OnlyFans on Reddit as a guy?
Reddit works through communities, each with its own rules on top of Reddit's. Reddit's own rules require that all NSFW content is marked NSFW and that mainly NSFW communities are set to 18+, and Reddit says adult content promoters might not be breaking its rules, though moderators can filter such accounts.
What gets creators removed is volume. Reddit treats mass-posting repetitive content for exposure or financial gain as spam, and users whose posts are mostly links to their own business should watch how often they post. There is also an informal rule of thumb in Reddiquette, written by users, that about 1 in 10 of your submissions should be your own content; it is not one of Reddit's rules, and each community's own rules decide.
A workable plan: find the communities for your niche, read each one's rules before the first post, post there as a person rather than an advertisement, and never post the same thing in many places at once.
How do you promote OnlyFans on X as a guy?
X allows adult content, with conditions. It permits consensually produced adult nudity and sexual behavior if it carries a content warning and is not shown in highly visible places: not in live video, profile pictures, headers, List banners or Community cover photos. Accounts that post adult content regularly are asked to change their media settings, which puts every image and video behind a content warning.
X's rules do not mention links to OnlyFans either way. What they ban is behavior: bulk unsolicited replies, mentions or DMs, and posting or DMing mostly bare links, and coordinating to exchange likes, reposts or follows. Post content your followers want to see, with the link in your profile, and let the posts do the work.
Can you promote OnlyFans on Instagram or TikTok?
Instagram, with care; TikTok, no. Meta's rules for Instagram and Threads show links to "Adult Subscription Websites" to adults only, but do not allow offering pornographic material or links to pornographic websites, and they define neither term or name any site. Suggestive content can stay up, but accounts that repeatedly put such content in their name, username, photo or bio may not be recommended to people who do not follow them. Some creators use Instagram only for safe-for-work content about their life or training, and keep the OnlyFans link off it.
TikTok is not a channel for OnlyFans promotion. It bans facilitating access to sexual services, including offering sexual chats, imagery or pornography, and counts posting links and directing people off TikTok as trade. YouTube is the same in substance: no links to pornography, and no directing viewers to a profile elsewhere to watch content that breaks its rules.
Can you promote OnlyFans on gay dating apps?
No. Grindr, Scruff and Hornet all ban it in their own rules, even though none names OnlyFans: Grindr bans using the app to advertise anything or to buy or sell anything, Scruff bans advertising, selling, social media handles in profiles and messages meant to drive members to an external site, and Hornet forbids any commercial activity and links promoting external channels. Some creators have promoted there anyway. An account banned from the app is the mild outcome; a profile that people who know you can see is the worse one.
Can you pay for ads or shout-outs?
Paid ads are closed for OnlyFans promotion almost everywhere. OnlyFans itself says you may not promote an OnlyFans account with Google Ads or other search advertising. X bans ads for adult sexual content, TikTok ads may not promote sexual services or member-exclusive adult content, Telegram ads must not promote sexual content, and sexual content ads cannot run on YouTube. Meta allows ads with links to Adult Subscription Websites only when targeted at people 18+, without nudity.
Shout-outs, where another creator promotes you for money, are allowed on OnlyFans if they are disclosed: OnlyFans requires #ad, #paidpromotion or #sponsored, plus the brand and who paid. In the US the FTC's rule is that a paid connection must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, and with the endorsement itself; plain terms such as "ad" or "sponsored" are often enough.
What about link pages?
A link page collects your links in one place, and the two biggest services allow adult links with conditions. Linktree allows them if the content is legal where you are, the link is marked sensitive and it does not advertise full-service sex work, but no adult media on the Linktree page itself. Beacons allows adult links with its sensitive content notice turned on, if the page itself suits all ages. Keep the link page itself safe for work either way.
What is a simple promotion plan for a male creator?
Start with two channels you can keep up every day, usually X and Reddit, and build them on new accounts connected to nothing else in your life. Post content made for that platform, within its rules, with the OnlyFans link in your profile or on a link page. Work with other creators you know, and remember that anyone who appears in your explicit content must be a tagged verified creator or complete OnlyFans' release-form verification.
